For over 25 years, Parkway Partners has hosted Feast with the Stars, a Sunday Brunch featuring A-list local celebrities and delectable New Orleans fare set in the Gallier Hall with lively Dixieland Jazz setting the mood for the festivities.
In 2016, the format changed from a collection of entrées from various chefs to paying homage to a local hero, Leah Chase, at her famed restaurant, Dooky Chase. This is the organization’s major fundraising event which has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support tree planting and greenspace education.
In addition to its loyal following of community members and volunteers, the event has attracted such sponsors as Entergy (traditionally the presenting sponsor), Whitney Bank, Shell Oil, Latter & Blum and Manning Architects. Feast also offers the opportunity to honor community members who work to preserve and expand New Orleans’ green space, through the Green Spirit Award. Past recipients of the Green Spirit Award include Margaret Orr, Jackie Clarkson, Dr. Bob Thomas, and in 2017, Dana Brown.
This year, as we launch the strategic re-envisioning of Parkway Partners under a new Executive Director, Lanette Dumas, the Feast will return to the original venue that held the beloved event.
On Sunday, October 14, 2018, Parkway Partners will present its annual Brunch, the Feast, Havana style at the New Orleans Board of Trade. Catering will be provided by Pigeon Catering, who will also sponsor the Intimate Toasting for patrons which immediately precedes the event.
The menu won’t disappoint nor will the Bloody Mary and Mojito bars. Guests will be entertained by live salsa music, surprise guest appearances and an interactive silent auction experience.
You won’t want to miss this time-honored event in such a beautiful space, as Parkway Partners honors the 2018 Green Spirit Award winner Dr. Lake Douglas and sets the stage for the year to come.
