TREE TROOPER REGISTRATION "CITIZEN FORESTER" TREE TRAINING
TREE TROOPERS is a program to train volunteers to protect our trees and restore our urban canopy. It is designed to educate neighborhood-based volunteers to properly care for mature and newly planted trees throughout New Orleans and Jefferson Parish. Part of the ReLeaf New Orleans initiative. The workshop is FREE and open to the public.
TOPICS: Benefits of Trees, Physiology of Trees, Insects and Tree Disease, Urban Soils, Proper Planting, Green Laws, Pruning and Caring for Newly Planted and Mature Trees
SPEAKERS: Tom Campbell, Urban Forestry Program Director Dan Gill, Associate Specialist, LSU Agricultural Center
REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATION:
Attend ALL 6 hours of classroom instruction and ALL 6 hours of field instruction
Commit 12 volunteer hours
